United staff where nice to make the best of the situation. And they gave us like two rounds of snacks which is unheard of on such short flights. And I guess that is not acceptable to United Airlines for a refund or reschedule without a fee that I could actually buy a new ticket for the cost of their fee. The itinerary printed out that I was traveling Lufthansa so my nephew left me off at Terminal B; but after trying to print out my boarding pass unsuccessfully, the supervisor said that I was booked on United which is at Term C. I think that's a poor decision as a mom and her 2 small kids were scattered about the plane.I had to rush on the air train to the crowded Airtrain & running thru Security & Customs. And wants to charge me as much as a new ticket to save my ticket. Fortunately, people were willing to shuffle around to allow the mom to sit with her kids. Didn’t get a refund for baggage, instead was given meal vouchers for the airport in the morning.United did provide hotel for the night but nothing special. My itinerary was changed multiple times, most importantly impacting my arrival time into Victoria BC.
I specifically purchased my ticket so I would have plenty of time to make this connection.
While I made my flight with a few minutes to spare, the process could have been much easier and the United Rep could have done more.
He could have just called the gate at the very least to let them know I was coming.
